Is this the thing that Mr Korfhage was contesting with the MCUSA Mean Streak?

Honest, I quite like cats. Couldn't eat a whole one though.

What are the class restrictions of the class. One of our members ran in the Run Wat-Cha Brung class on a stock Vegas (except for pipes) and did 119.517 mph. I'm just wondering what the Vegas may have done with some mods. I haven't had my Vegas over 110 mph, but I know there is still some throttle left.

The only controversy that I'm aware of is the 138 mile per hour pass the announcer read backwards at 183 instead of the 138. AMA rules say run it again. We lost that one hour opportunity in the morning when the salt was dry. No sour grapes here! That's racing! If we had been in the run what you bring class we could have kept that 138mph because those are one way passes. AMA and FIM are two passes for a average. I did see the Polaris run. I thought that he told us all in the pits that he had a dealer big bore kit and a remap. If your victory can run 110mph, with the wheel slipage at 10 to 15% your bike will run at Bonneville through the traps this year around 84 to 87mph. This is common. Bonneville is not easy, and the track is not predictable. Before we left for Bonneville we were told that the big heavy hitters like the VTX and the Yamaha Warrior were going to eat us up. I think it's a real feather in our cap when we take the slowest mule from the pack and come home with a record! R&D Tech

I think so too. It's a shame they didn't have better salt for the run, but I'm betting that they could have broken 150.

Well, here's to next year.

Did you set it up, pay for it, haul it there, and ride it too?

I thought it was a team effort.

Guys - Korf has completed his report on the Mean Streak Land Speed performance. Sure enough Korf was there, but he wasn't riding it. Read the report here and share your thoughts with us.

Well, I find the names pretty hard to give a persons face (or background), is R&D tech, and Butch one and the same? Is a group (team) picture out of the question, with a rundown of what was done by who?

Guy Mobley and Steve Lacewell were the primary tuners of the MS, while Butch Cook piloted the bike down the salt flats.

Let me try this again, I'm having difficulty posting pictures on this form. For pictures of Team Vulcan try

and look under there photo gallery there is over a dozen pictures of the bike and us. What was done by who?
The motorcycle was donated by motorcycle USA. They also donated there transportation van. Sherm's Cycle donated all the parts for the motorcycle. Rych racing did the engine work. I installed the engine and did the additional work to the chassy, tire balancing, kill switches, TFI ect... then I drove the motorcycle to Montana and had Mark Dobeck tune the race bike on his Dyno. (Dobeck Performance maker of the TFI). Then I drove the motorcycle to Bonneville and met up with the team a few days later, and the rest is history. By the way this was my idea to race this bike at Bonneville. All of this was donated by everyone involved. A special thanks to Buch Cook and everyone involved! R & D tech

To post pictures you should first save them to your PC.

Then use the "Attachment Manager" to browse for them & upload them to the MC-USA server.
