looks like so much fun. I would love to tear around on that thing. I would love to ride up to a sportbike night on that thing and enjoy watching people shake their heads!

Thanks for the great review of the Kymco Super 9.

In the article, you mention a price tag of $2,259 -- however, my local scooter shop sells this model for $2,800, and the best price I can find online is $2,599. Has the price increased recently?

Thanks.

Here's a better deal on a Super 9! Sign up for our new My Garage and you could get a sparkling Kymco for absolutely nothing! I've spent the past few weeks commuting aboard our trusty 2004 version and little Orange is still running strong. With summer gas prices hitting hard it's too bad I'm an employee or I'd be signing up for My Garage faster than you can say "three-fifty per gallon".

I've certainly seen an increase in scooterist around town --- and for good reason! That Kymco is a good one.

It sure is a good one! Sometimes I wish I had a little more oomph though for extra thrill or at least to help make 40-55 mph roads a bit easier on the motor. Neale Bayly did his own evaluation of the Super 9's big cousin, the Xciting 500. This might be a little better suited to the sporty type or if you want to pick up chicks like that wily Englishman.

Well, If you have no pride what-so-ever, and you you're attracted to chicks that don't have any two wheel savy, as long as it moves they're all the same right?

Perfect match

$2500 and 65mpg? You can beat that with any lightly used 250cc bike, street or dirt, and best of all you'll have a real bike. That scooter either needs to be $1000 cheaper or about 25% better in terms of economy, otherwise, what's the point?

I've heard of many more scooterist getting higher mpg out of that particular scooter. You're right though, a scooter can't best 65mpg (a 49cc scooter, that is) there are problems.

Pretty cool for a scooter, imo.

I once had a Kymco Cobra scoot that had the same motor as the Super 9. It would get about 80-90mpg. And no kidding, the chicks at the beach dig it cuz it looks so fun. Then a truck killed it (and almost killed me)...

lol Know what'cha mean... was seeing this unresponsive milf, and when I caught her checking her watch once while I had the miner's helmet on, had to dump her. ;-)

Re scooter's running out of git, rode my friend's Vespa (still don't know why, but he said "take 'er fer a ride!", so I did - been doin' lots of strange stuff, lately). It was fun manhandling that thing in litte figure-8 excercizes, but it was WAY slow. But it's s'posed to be slow. Wheelies were easy, but it flet so 'wrong'... Chicks really dig those things. It's as good as going to the park w/a 'cute' dog or child...

I'm glad you chimed in with that, Desmo. I thought my numbers were wrong, but I rung in 97 mpg after filling up the other day. That can't be right, can it???? I couldn't believe it so I'm zipping around until I can top it off again to double check.

Well, a Vespa is Italian, like a Ducati it has history, it has shape, it has class. But, the thing on this thread is made where? In China, would be my guess, Would Sophia Loran put her butt on this scooter? Would anyone with the slightest shread of decency get on a made in China (or wherever the labor is the cheapest place?)

I guess the good point of this scooter is it occupys the time of the chicks I don't want to be involved with. (you know I always look for the good point lol )

Ok, I thought I'd do my homework before posting again so I went ahead and waited until I used three more tanks of fuel. I hit mileage figures of 95, 98 and today reached 101 all on 89-octane pump gas. I even had some 2-up action thrown in there. I don't give a flying crap where this thing is manufactured. It's been abused and still runs like a top, has unbeatable mileage and I've had far more compliments on it than negative feedback, even from chicks - smokin' or otherwise.
