I'm Ben. I'm a chef and food/travel writer. Try to get to my work assignments by motorcycle whenever possible. I just got into street riding a couple years ago. Hadn't been on a bike much for over 20 years. Before that, everything was pretty much dirt bikes, back when I was a teenager. Took the MSF course in April 2008 then bought a (don't laugh too hard) Vento Colt-- which, leaving Pennsylvania one morning-- I immediately took on a roadtrip/summer work assignment to Maine. Thankfully, I just sold that bike and got a 2010 HD Wide Glide.

Looking forward to participating in these forums. Thanks!

Hello folks...used to ride dirt bikes a lot as a kid, but have been into street bikes for the past five or six years. I worked at a motorcycle dealership for a couple of years and recently got out because of economic woes. I now work in screen printing and t-shirt design. I recently sold my 2008 Kawasaki Ninja and now looking for something a little more laid back. I'm planning to take a trip out to the west coast and rent a triumph to ride up and down HWY 1 for a week....really looking forward to it. Anyone here ever ridden HWY 1? Any suggestions or tips?

Hi, New member here. I am at the moment in the learning phase of riding, having lessons on a BMW f650 GS. I'll probably be more concumer than participant on this forum, but enjoy reading it nonetheless. I've been wanting to get a drivers licence for years, since driving for almost two weeks in India on one of these: (Picture by 'kenjonbro' on his flickr account)

My only reget is that I didn't do this about 40 years ago!

Hiya!

My name is Lu and I've been riding on and off for a while. I'm an Aussie living in the UK planning a 2month motorcycle tour of the US next year with boyfriend of 6years. We're both riders (though he's more continued experience than me!) and really want to get another continent under our belts. We currently share a Suzuki SV 650 and have done a couple of trips to Germany and back. Looking forward to picking your brains about the US roads!

TTFN,
Lu

Hi,

I am Roadscout, I ride a 94 BMW K75 that I have owned since new. I live in Arizona so there are a lot of opportunities to get out and ride and enjoy the natural beauty around the state. I started a web site, arizonaroadadventures.com to record my travels and to give guidance for others that what to enjoy riding Arizona like the locals. If you get a chance check it out and let me know your thoughts.

Glad to be here,

Roadscout

Hi everyone.
It's been over 30 years since I rode a bike, until 3 weeks ago!
I now have a 1979 Yamaha xs 750 Special, and have put just over 800 miles on in the 3 weeks that I have had it.
Then last Saturday I found a 1981 Yamaha xs 850 project bike.
Yes, I am hooked.

Hi Folks,

I moved to Thailand from New York about 18 months ago. I had never ridden a motorcycle, but I quickly realized that in order to get around, the most practical mode of transportation here is a scooter. I rented a scooter and I taught myself to ride. Once I started riding, it dawned on me what all the fuss is about. I wanted more! So, I rented a small cruiser and taught myself to drive a standard shift. Once I felt comfortable riding, I bought a used Honda Steed 400 (I think it was called Honda Shadow VLX in the States). A full face helmet, riding jacket and boots immediately followed.

I love riding and I began looking for motorcycle web sites. I found moto-usa, the best site by far imho and here I am.

So, I figured I'd say hi.

All the best to everyone

Alexander

Hello!

My name is Elizabeth. I'm 24 and from NY, USA. I have several friends who ride; some are young idiot boys from whom I wouldn't take a speck of advice (ride cruisers in sleeveless T-shirts), and some who have been on bikes for decades whom I respect the hell out of and am constantly bugging for old stories. I don't ride yet, but I've been lurking on this forum for weeks and weeks. I read through the entire Motorcycle Safety section (seriously, the whole thing) and am trying to learn everything I can from all the experienced posters here before I take the MSF in Spring 2011. You guys are great, and this forum is great, and I can't wait for the day that I get to post pics of my bike with my happy ass sitting on it and say "I took the MSF and now I get to start racking up the newbalicious miles. Wish me luck!"

P.S. Pic is me. =)

^^ Could apply to love OR riding, no? =)

Hello,

My wife and I both ride up here in Manitoba, Canada. This summer we rode a Vulcan 900C Special Edition (me) and a Suzuki intruder 800 (her).

We've just bought two new bikes, a 2011 Victory Cross Country (after much looking and riding) form me, and a Vulcan 900 Classic for my wife.

Both bikes are in storage right now, and this is going to be a long winter.
