When this song and video came out Harley sent it out to owners from there web site. I've met some great people on the road and especially on the back roads.

I've watched this about 10 times in a row! I would love to figure out how to put that song on my IPod! Makes me wanna go out in the garage and jump on Pearl and take off! ;-)

As far as I know the song was never released on CD and I have never heard it on the radio. I can't even find a release by the band for any other music they may have done. I have often thought the video was done as a Harley promo.

Can I just say I hated almost everything about this song and video? Sorry, but it was a list of every cliche I could think about and was clearly written to appeal to fellow cruiser riders. The only bit I liked was that little clip of classical music at the beginning.

So Ian, give me a good MC song and video, for example "Living on the Edge" with Jim Capaldi. I had that vid, misplaced it, and have searched high and low for it.

Wow, just Googled it and found it:

eyes You sure can! To each his own I say. It sure appealed to this "fellow cruiser rider". However, I think more importantly it was saying it was all about the ride..young or old, no matter what bike you ride, it's all about the ride and open road. I don't care if they were riding sport bikes or harley's, the words and the upbeat music had my toes tapping and put a big ol' smile on my face! :p

Don't turn desperate on me, Lora! We have enough desperate housewives ...

Nicola James alias Jim Capaldi founded Traffic a couple of days ago (!) and I think he has played with most of the big guns. He also died in 2005, Batman lives. Traffic planned a reunion tour in 05, but that stranded.

That was the point where I gave up on it too!

To answer Red. I don't know if I have a favourite biking song; most of them seem pretty bad. If you pushed me to choose one then I suppose it would be this one. I know it's old and a bit hackneyed, but it still has me singing in my lid.

I suppose I should also mention "Born to be Wild" even though I don't really like it much. Even Silver Dream Machine has a nice melody.

This one always puts a tingle up my spine: "The News" by Dire Straits...it's kind of a cautionary tale and does not end well in terms of the rider!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVJ6TW8xnh0

And "Going the Distance" by Cake, though the official video stinks and it should have been a video of dirt track racing. This one has some bikes in it...but not the right kind IMO:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDPqOpIBBgo

Two great songs, nonetheless.

Not bad. Kinda full of stereotypes, but ok.

I kinda prefer a cycle song like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3IqFeGjUkU&feature=related

Not the original done by Richard Thompson, but a fine rendition none the less.

I'd suggest "Bike Blood" by the Fabulous Poodles...kinda out of date, though, I could find a few Fabulous Poodles vids on Youtube but not that one...

Now where is my red dye and black leather...lol

Absolutely one of my favorite artists. A very brilliant chap.

Ian...m'friend, damn it's been too long...you couldn't have said it any better. Sorry, I am just not a fan of anything that supports the "biker" stereotype, though music is a very personal message and if you love it Lora...as it should be!!

Myself...i like this...shameless self-indulgence. :p this song rang in my head and i had to ride home and make this... hahahaha

Great to see you Donna; you are not here enough for my liking. Great suggestion on the song too, which I have never heard before but which I added to my list.

Yeah, no matter what you ride! Electra Glide...Softail...Sportster...IT'S ALL GOOD MAN! :p :p

I have no beef with cruiser riders whatsoever (my dad rides a Vulcan...and I make sure to wave to all riders...sans scooters lol), but this video just kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I also must say I'm not impressed by the lack of helmets and other gear...I know, I know...all about the "free spirit" or whatever. If I didn't wear a full face I wouldn't have a face to speak of today :-)

Little know fact, the female singer (Angela) and her husband (or ex husband) live in St. Louis. She was married to Ronald Isley (of Isley brother fame or MR. Big as he sometimes calls himself)

I'd have to say one of my favs is "Living In the USA" by Steve Miller Band. I know it doesn't have a lot to do with riding, but it is upbeat and what is more American than jumping on your bike and hitting the road?
