The 14 is is not comfy, the scooter is comfy but not fast. Triumph Tiger works well but requires a lot of work to keep running. Back to Harley? Last Harley I rode was perfect, do the ton and easy to control.

Just ignore the little item of the various ways a bike gets used, and various experience levels of riders. And what one rider wants to feel vs another rider. What one rider wants to see vs another rider.

All that has to be ignored to say one bike is perfect, so ignore that as well.

I will say my bike is the perfect bike for me (as most riders will say about thier rides). I have my old girl dressed up just the way I like her. The highway pegs are situated perfectly for me (after adjustment after adjustment). I know when she is sick (very rare). I cheat on her flirting with other newer bikes, but she just shows me that she is still the best ride for me (and she is paid for).

the mirrors are EXACTLY where I want them, I get no surprises from her. she is just perfect for me.

Sure she is not the prettiest girl at the dance, but she will let me ride her all night. (sorry ladies for the tasteless comment).

The perfect motorcycle is the one that puts the biggest smile on your face. So there is no one "perfect motorcycle".

Since there is no "perfect' motorcycle, perhaps we should have more than a few bikes to ride. Have several different types of bikes. Yeah, that'll work.......

My problem is I've enjoyed every bike I've ever ridden, from 49cc to 996cc...except for one:

I apologize for anyone owning an r1200c but it was simply awful.

That BMW looked awful as well GAJ.  This was BMW's attempt to produce a super duper Cruiser & certainly looked like it was an attempt though that was as far as it went.

Smitty, the very first litebike I ever rode was this now collector's item. Smooth as silk, but really didn't get a chance to ride it in the twisties. That was a ground breaking front end for the time.

Compared to my 75hp BMW750 at the time, it was like a turbine!

I ride a beemer, I love my beemer, I think there's no finer motorcycle than a BMW.

But I gotta agree,,, that thing was like a trainwreck. You wanted to look away, but you just couldn't. Awful awful, just bad.

I've had a BMW in the garage since 1987 and have no problem saying that particular bike was just awful.

I mean the looks are horrific enough, but the riding experience?

Completely disconnected from the road...for me it was scary to ride. freaked

Mine is a 1973 with 43,000 miles on it. The new Triumphs are a complete different animal. They only resemble the old ones (some) but that's good.

No doubt! I wouldn't mind getting a sporty standard hooligan-ish bike like a Speed Triple. I would want something that is comfortable and can be cruised around on, but still has the power to go a bit loony when the situation calls for it. If just a comfy standard that still has some go, the Suzuki Gladius is a pretty sweet bike.

I usually factor comfort into my enjoyment of motorcycles. The Superbikes feel a lot more track-oriented to me. I don't know how much I'd actually care to ride it on the street.

One must also take into consideration how often the rider/owner would not be smiling.

What is it about the 14 you don't find comfortable?

One of each would likely do it. Perfection, like one of each is pretty much unattainableconfused

I don't know what you mean with reference to the Tiger either. Mine has been very low maintenance and I would say it is the perfect motorcycle. It could use a little more wind protection in cool weather.
