ZX Rider here in Canada, at the start we did not get along with the AMA for it was contolled by the HD people, also controlled races ALSO in other countries with the Cdn Cdn M/c Association that the AMA would not recognize.

So a lot of good road races in the USA, but the AMA was not affiliated with FIMC since they wanted to run things THEIR WAY.

So how does a good road racer, in the USA get to right to compete in Europe to England?  They would join the CMA & race here. It was up to some of us to say this terific competor should be offered an EXpert License AND THAT allowed him to apply to some of the other countries, but under the AMA it would not have worked.

True now the AMA is part of FIMCA, but not back in the late 20 or early 50s.

Some of also had Indian 45SV V-twins & the AMA stated that one could NOT compete with an Indian  that was prior to 42, meaning they only wanted HD to be at the flat track events & NOT Indian which was one of the ways the AMA/HD controlled who & what was to be raced under the AMA rules.

So YES you would learn something about the AMA & the CMA back in 1947.

Remember all the others on the road are crazy & out to kill you.
