Here's a few P&S shots from the 2011 Red Bull Indy GP...

1) The MotoGP race start.

2) Stoner stalking Pedrosa early in the race, as the rest of the field is spread out on the front straight.

3) Bautista on top of struggling Hayden.

4) First lap of Sunday's Harley race with the Indy skyline in the back.

5) A crashed Harley.

OK, two more:

1) Hayden pulling into the pits late in the race. I think you can read the depressed body language from here. Sad day for the Kentucky Kid in front of the home crowd.

2) A GoPro fisheye pic from above IMS T1 after the last race of the weekend.  I think it's my favorite picture of my favorite place...

K1600GTL in motion.
Nikon D80
1/60s @ f/16
Focal Length: 18mm
ISO 100

I like this one because it's NOT a GoPro shot - though that probably would have made things easier!
For this shot, I rode on the back of my friend's bike, held my camera off of the side, and blind fired using my preferred settings.
What I like about this pic is the motion captured through the shadow of the front wheel.

I know these shots aren't worthy of the weekly prize, but I had to share anyway because it's a neat idea and it supports our soldiers.

During the lunch break at AMA races, the Michael Jordan/National Guard team gives two-up rides to service members on a special two-seater race bike. Jason Pridmore gives them a good show and I have yet to see one of the passengers get off without a huge smile on their face.

It's a great thing they're doing and even better that they're supporting our troops this way.

I shot them at New Jersey Motorsport Park with a Canon EOS Rebel Xsi. Overcast day, so it's not going to be hanging on someone's wall, but I'm glad I caught it on film.

Thanks for letting me share.

Taken last year in late December, at a place I use to ride when I lived in Phoenix AZ, after a crazy winter storm in the desert. Complete with high winds, torrential rain, lightening, and snow! However the next morning after very little sleep, as we were camping during this storm, the desert was tacky and the traction was stellar!

ISO= 80
Aperture= f/3.5

Riding Waldo Canyon RD just north of Los Cerrillos NM, after one of my friends had just picked up his new Tiger 800XC.

Here are a few from a trip I took this July in 100 degree temps. We journeyed from Boston through western Massachusetts up through Vermont. On the way home we came back through New Hampshire. I used our Canon PowerShot S95.

Rolling through a quiet Vermont town.

My ancient but trusty 1984 Nighthawk 650.

Our first covered bridge find in north-western Massachusetts.

The mighty Nighthawk.

Looking down a highway in southern New Hampshire... a long way home.

Bonus shot. No bikes but I loved the way this photo turned out. Near a general store in New Hampshire.

Thank you wisart, love the old Nighthawk! And Baas Pro, the tunnel shot is inspiring me to strap on my GoPro and hit the dirt in still shot mode!

We thought we were about to ride into a serious monsoon storm, so we pulled over in Galisteo NM to put our rain gear on. However, a lite sprinkle is all we encountered.

Thanks wisart, I do like the results from the D100, but the LX5 is s much easier to carry on the bike, and it has become my favorite camera. I hardly use the D100 anymore, but if I could find an older Nikkor 300mm telephoto for a killer price, that would change.
