I am 20 and really have no idea how to get started so I have a few questions I would like to ask just to make sure I'm on track and am getting good stuff.
1. I live in texas and here you must take a course at a riding school to get you license (at least thats what the DMV told me) so i looked into a couple and ran across Harley's "riders edge" program and I was just wondering if you guys think this class would be a good introduction for me or not or if there's something better?
2. if I do take that class I need a helmet, I currently have $50 to amazon, what would you recommend for a full face hemet?
Thanks you for you time helping me out. | | Back to Top

2. any helmet that is dot and or snell approved is good to go. regardless of brand, model or price, find one that fits your head comfortably. visit motorcycle dealers or gear shops like cycle gear and try it on then buy one or if you can find it cheaper online, order it. | | Back to Top

A full-face helmet is a very good idea, but I think I'd recommend purchasing one from a brick-and-mortar store, where you can try it on before buying (especially if you're not too sure how a helmet fits). Take a look at the third or fourth post in this thread for some guidelines. | | Back to Top
