I've got a '99 Ducati 748, bought it used from my older brother. I'm spoiled now, as maintenance has never been an issue, and the two wrecks I've been in (reasonable, small ones) did little to besmirch it.

BTW I still ride my 05 GSX-R1000 now with 50,000 miles plus, and some other SBs I have in storage here - 06 SV-650S and an 06 CBR1000RR - all fun bikes. I used to have some more straight up bikes too, and even one that you lent back so far, that you lost touch with your ride. I hated that.

It started out as your normal 2008 GSX-R600 blue/white with Yoshimura R55 pipe, some other aftermarket stuff, and now here it is today:

***Note: Everything was done by me, and I mean everything down to the disassembly, sand blast, prep, primer, paint/airbrush and reassembly.***

I know this paint scheme is completely "out of the norm" and yes I have had MANY many people tell me it's a little "too busy" but being my first paint project I wanted to try out all the techniques I have learned (flake, pearl, stencil, tape outs, bevel edges, etc...) on one canvas.

I thought what better way to do it than on my personal toy, and don't worry there are always going to be people that don't like my scheme or design or how busy it is. This very thing is what makes the world go 'round; because if everyone had the same tastes and preferences it would be a very bland world. :)

My bike is "DIFFERENT" and that's what I wanted to accomplish. Some people like the lowered/streched/chrome 360 rear tire busa look. I don't it's just a personal preference. To Each His Own :D

Just thank God for giving me the talent and patience to do this.  It's all for Him. John 3:16

That is freakin' wild! I like that each side is completely different...

Not many people paint their engine, though. Had any problems with that? What kind of prep did you do on the cases?

The forks were wrapped during the paint and the brake calipers were sandblasted and then two-part epoxy coated then baked.

The exhaust was sandblasted then 3 coats of Hi-Temp Flame-proof paint good up to 1600 degrees.

The engine, and engine covers were sandblasted and then HOK Epoxy primer, Ko-Seal, Base coat, airbrushed, then 3 coats of UC-35 clear coat.

Total of 700+ hours of personal time

Parts:
Yoshimura R-55 System - (minus Silencer) Hot-Coated White
Hot Bodies Racing Turn Signals
RK Chain 525
Throttlemeister Bar Ends
Custom Seat
Smoke headlight cover
GP-Shift  (1 up, 5 Down)
Custom Paint - two-sided design done by myself (Own design)

I thank God for the patience and talent he gave me to do this project.

Good God, that IS busy! Seriously though I kind of like it. It's neat that if you pass by somebody going in one direction and then pass them the opposite way they may think you have two different bikes. :-)
