Hi guys, I'm new here, proud owner of a beautiful 1996 Duc M900, but I think I'm ready to move on now after having it a couple of years to something newer.
so my picks and choices are narrowed down to (but still a lot):
RSV1000R
Tuono
Duc Sport 1000S
Street Triple R
MV F4 750 (i've seen them with under 10K miles for $7.5K)
RC51

I'm not really one to be into anything japanese, sake for the rc51, it's just vtwin coolness and kinda looks like the rsv1000. I'm looking for something to ride around 5000 miles a year, and be used pretty evenly split between just transport  and backroad fun, so after backroads, it has to be comfortable to. I'm also into reliability, but from what I already know, all these bikes are already very reliable bikes with reasonably low maintenence, more so than my Duc is regarded as anyways.

so what would your guys' pick(s) be?

thanks

out of that list, i would go with the tuono if cost is the same:

if i'm going for best overall value, i would pick the rc51. here's comparo against the ducati 999r which did pretty well considering that the 999r cost 3 times as much:

Ducati 999R Honda RC51
PRICE MSRP $29,995 $11,599

Weight 452 lb. (wet) 427 lb. (fuel tank empty) 470 lb. (wet) 441 lb(fuel tank empty)
Fuel capacity 4.1 gal. (16L) 4.8 gal. (18L)

PERFORMANCE
Corrected 1/4-mile* 10.34 sec. @ 134.37 mph 10.55 sec. @ 131.6 mph
0-60 mph* 3.17 sec. 3.14 sec.
Top-gear roll-on, 60-80 mph* 2.94 sec. 3.31 sec.
Fuel mileage (low/high/average) 24/45/37 19/45/35

Humm, good question...I'd go ((like Jon) with the Tuono, or..what isn't on your list..Multistrada 1200 S.  Electronic adjustable Ohlins Suspension  is a huge item.

I wouldn't consider the RC51, at all. I don't go by cost...I'm a screw that,
I want what works the best, period, kinda guy.

The RSV1000R is one of my favorite bikes looks-wise. That said, from that list, definitely, definitely the Street Triple R!

Admitedly, I'm biased toward the RC51 so I'd be all over it. Taking it out of the equasion, I'd opt for the Street Triple and then the RSV1000. While the Tuono is a fine bike, I just can't get around it somehow. Lou, have you ridden an RC? Just curious as to why it leaves you so obviously cold.;-)

I never get lost, there's always lots of people telling me where to go!
