This allows the bike to be dropped on it's belly with no kickstand. Many people don't know that. They think the bike is suppose to ride while dragging on the ground. When the bike is aired up, it has a 4 1/2 inche ground clearance for a safe and comfortable ride. "Groundpounder" passed a 125 mile test ride with no problems to prove it's reliability and worthiness. It's not only a bad ass bar hopper, but a rideable one to boot. | | Back to Top

The brakes are hidden under the seat and in the front wheel. Even the handlebars have no visible controls. I learned that it has an internal twist clutch, and internal twist throttle. The oil filter, and regulator is hidden inside the Primary housing. Even the shift linkage is hidden under the primary belt. Very clean indeed!! | | Back to Top

That's why I encouraged readers to visit each builder's homepage and view high-rez, studio-quality pics and provided links to each builder's site. While I was at the Laughlin River Run, I shot pics of unique bikes from up-and-coming builders. I wasn't sure who I was going to feature in the article or else I would have tried to shoot a more extensive photo montage.
Mr. Casual - These bikes are made for riding. Maybe not the type of riding that you like to do on your bike, but they are definitely street-ready. I could see myself cruising down Pacific Coast Highway on the Ground Pounder, or hitting the Vegas strip at night aboard a sweet Big Bear bike. As they say, different strokes for different folks. The most important thing is that we all ride.
Also, if you saw the way these bikes attracted fine women, you might reconsider. They're virtual magnets for beautiful women. 'Nuff said. | | Back to Top

That is why they call them one off customs. 99% of riders own a bike that is off of an assembly line that is produced 10,000 times over. The only difference is the color and a few aftermarket parts. A "One Off Custom" is hand crafted form scratch. I own both kinds. I have a stock sport bike, a modified Harley, and a radical Chopper. I enjoy them all. I will say that a radical chopper is funner to ride and draws more attention than any of the others at any given time or place. | | Back to Top

I've have seen Groundpounder in person and there really is no words that can decribe just how awesome this bike is.. from the air ride supension to the hidden clutch lines its just simply AMAZING. All of the bike that are built by Copr Choppers are one of a kind. But i'd have to say that after building a bike like Ground Pounder where do you go? Maybe a 330 tire, or the helicopter bearing like Billy Lane used, some type of bad ass paint job that is just crazy..All i gotta say to Tony is if you top Groundpounder i cant wait to see that bike.. | | Back to Top

This is Copr Choppers 5th consecutive win at this event. They decided to retire Tony and make him a judge for next years show. | | Back to Top

Groundpounder had to go on a 125 mile test ride just to be entered in the Biker Build Off Challenge. If 125 mile ride is not enough proof of a rideable bike, then what is. And to top off it's reliability, it has 130 horsepower (more than most bikes on the road) | | Back to Top
