Just attended the MC show and checked out all the cruisers. Victory was not there.

Harley best by far in fit finish & build quality over metrics. Really couldn't get past plastic rocker covers, dorky and plastic air cleaner covers etc. And what's with the super wide fuel tanks on some models? Styling leaves a lot to be desired............

There's a reason they are cheaper & don't hold value blush

Plastic rocker covers???? I have not seen that on any metric before. Its too much heat for plastic and there is a gasket seal to maintain. Are you sure on that one. Im a big guy so the superwide fuel tanks are not an issue with me. I didnt notice that the fuel tanks were all that much bigger on a metric. which bike?

To each his own on styling. take the victory vision. some people love it, a lot of people hate it. thats a mater of personal choice. the holding the value line applies if you are a dealer. try taking your used harley to dealer for a trade in and see what happens. holding resale value means nothing to me. When I am usually done with a bike, the bike is done.

Of course he is sure.
He is sure about everything he says.......even though most of it is total crap.

No but I don't pay real close attention to things like that either.

My present one has a plastic chrome thing on the side that looks like an air cleaner.......but really is a tool box.

I seem to remember something about there being plastic rocker covers on teh Honda Fury when it was introduced and on their current ST line of cruisers, but I could be mistaken.

If they don't leak, what's wrong with plastic rocker covers? I have one on my car and it's fine.

I really do not recall ever seeing a plastic rocker cover on any motorcycle. Are you sure thats a rocker cover on your car or is it a heat shield?

Plastic, I just checked. Does the job, no oil leaks, who could ask for more?

Does anyone really consider this topic anything other than troll bait? After all, consider the source of it's author.

yeah the first post was kind of baiting wouldn't you say. there is an interesting thread about 2002 softail in the maintenance section. 46k for either a bad battery, stator or junction box. I believe it's a battery which would not be bad for a factory battery at all, but stator or junction at 46k? really?
