After redefining the motocross world in 2001, Yamaha has redefined the YZ250F for '06 with a ton of changes including major chassis, suspension and exhaust development that make the new model a serious force to be reckoned with in the world of 250Fs. Check out our first ride on the YZ250F.

These bikes are getting closer and closer together. The new Kawi, the Honda and now the YZ. And don't forget the bike that I think is the cream of the crop----KTM 250SXF!

Oooo Reg...You're right, they are so close. I love how the parity is shaping up in this particular class. The thing is - the Kawi thumper is the reigning king of the hill in AMA at this point and Yamaha and the rest of the pack are trrying to catch up at this point. I am not sure if its just rider skill or what but Yamaha needs an infusion for their Lites racing program ASAP. Hopefully the YZ250F does the job. Now for th next item: You know why those KTMs are so popular? Because they are so trick right out of the box and KTM promotes it as such "Ready To Race" is their motto. The thing is, when it comes time to start building the race bike the playing field goes a bit more level. But then again, in regards to our comparos the KTM does have an advantage since it comes equipped with so much cool stuff. That being said, I lik ethe looks of these new Japanese bikes and the way JC is gushing over this YZ250F it should be a great year!

Damn it, where'd Duke go now?
