There was a communication mix-up on my part with the graphics department. The article should reflect the correct statistics now. Thanks for the catch. | | Back to Top

As for the black backgrounds, we're not criticizing, we love 'em! I've read the other shootouts as well and heard the complaints about Honda's finicky jetting. I even had a mental note to pay close attention, but I honestly never had an issue. I scoured my testers' notes and spoke to them all directly about any jetting issues with the Honda or the others and the only reports were the occasional bog with the KX-F and RM-Z. Honda's massive carb has earned a reputation for being troublesome, so I don't doubt that it can be. We just didn't have any. | | Back to Top

It is kinda 'fishy' when somebodies first post says 'hey, I don't agree with what you're saying, go check out these sites.' We're open to criticism - in fact, we rely on your feedback in the forum to let us know what we did right and what we need to work on in the future, but if the jetting on the Honda is the only detraction on an otherwise stellar bike, then that one discrepancy is not enough to override the overall findings of our test.
Be sure to check out the For My Money section. Though a bike doesn't nail down 'best bike' laurels, a lot of times it still suits a particular riding style or has a better feel for a tester than the others. If dred would have read this part of the test he would have noticed that JC picked the Kawi as the bike of choice for his money.
We would have loved to include the KTM. It's a formidable piece of off-road machinery, but sometimes the cards just don't all fall in place. Hopefully we can get a little love from KTM in the future and see how they stack up against the Japanese shredders. | | Back to Top
