Check out our first impressions after we spent the day riding the new models in Southern California. | | Back to Top

I really wish Victory all the best - they have improved by leaps and bounds over the last ten years, listening to customer feedback and refining the product endlessly. They are fighting a monolithic factory with a huge brand name and a devoted following, A brand where function has traditionally followed form and, with bikes that average around 1,500 to 2,000 miles a year, no-one was complaining too much.
Victory have upped the ante for American cruisers and I applaud them for taking on Goliath. | | Back to Top

But damn Harley, that hair-do is, um, well, how do I put this, not the most flattering I've ever seen!
But nice work. | | Back to Top

Somehow, Motorcycle Daily had this story about three months ago. I guess it needed to gel a little longer for words like 'thrum' to come into popular usage. "[H]ealthy cylinders." Hmmm. | | Back to Top

Healthy cylinders - as in good-sized, big, aka healthy. Sorry if they don't use that vernacular in your neck of the woods.
When you've got the explosion of the fuel, the vibration of a big V-Twin, the rumble of the exhaust and the smell of spent fumes all from the push of a button, it feels like it 'thrums' to life to me. | | Back to Top

...
You're right. I was wrong. They had it October 28th, just one month ago. I had read it excitedly because it was such a scoop.
I guess it seemed like three months because I've been looking at the teaser on the home page, which promissed that the story is 'Coming Soon,' FOREVER!
Don't be discouraged with my harsh criticism. It's only because you're loved. | | Back to Top

I wanted to get the story up earlier, but our site redesign put everything on hold for awhile. Now that it's up and running, I promise that we'll start cranking out the content in a more timely manner. Thanks for hanging in there with us in the interim.
Quick question - if we were going to do a full review on any of the Victory models in the near future, what bike would you like to see some dyno numbers and a full performance review on? I want to make sure that we tailor our content toward what readers are interested in, so just thought I'd ask. If enough people are interested in one particular bike, then I will try and secure one for testing in the future. Thanks for any and all input. | | Back to Top

I'd review the Jackpot with the big engine. It would be the lightest VIc with the big engine, most fun to ride and the most powerful. The Vision is a nice ride, but it's a seperate affair. | | Back to Top

I do wish the Kingpin had the new motor because I think that would be the one for me. Seems to me that in general the Vic's have custom paint jobs and sheet metal work that would be big bucks on anything else. I've always liked the look of the engines, guess I'm a sucker for healthy 'cylinders'. When I saw these things from the on set two words came to mind looking at the engine, big block.
Say Harley1, How's the ridding position, clucth pull. Did ya get to ride at night? How's the lighting? The seat on the Kingpin looks like it might be a prob, was it ok? You see any problems with the Vic's over the years? If there is a problem does the factory step in and fix it? Or do they call the problem a feature? I'll stop now.

But was equally bummed to find out they require high test gas. On an motor that's less than 9.0:1? Why? Still might go check one out.

As far as the price of the bikes go it looks like while Victory is not shy pricing the bikes the accories are they are very proud of. But the bikes seem to be less than the price of a Harley. The difference in price is not enough to buy one over the other in my book. Seems to me that Victory offers more for the money. But the main thing for me is the company and the dealers. Will the company support you and do the dealers have good folks working on the bikes. That's what important to me. | | Back to Top
