|I saw the Sertao at my local dealer yesterday. Good looking bike, similar styling and details like the past "Dakar" model. Yeah, the Sertao (or G650GS) are not cheap, but you get more power than the KLR650 and a rock solid reliable bike and engine. The KLR650, even the newest one, suffers from a slightly underpowered engine, its heavy, and it still has the issues of the cam chain tensioner. |
Two members in my local BMW club, husband and wife, bought a pair of G650GS last year, brand new. They rode them round trip from Green Bay to Patagonia South America (must be nice to be retired and have loads of cash). Thats about a 18,000 mile round trip ride. They had no mechanical issues with the bikes other than a few loosened bolts on the accessory gear.
Training, the best safety and performance "equipment" you can get!
