Yay - that time of the year is back roll

Quite a bit has happened since last year. There's been plenty of trouble for the local Department of Transport after the accident in the last race last year, the police is warning that anyone nicking signs will be in big trouble, some workers nearly refused to prepare the course after one of them was charged with manslaughter over TT preparations, and loads of other attempts to kill off the last real road race in the world - still, everything is going ahead as usual again...

My offer from last year still stands - if any of you MCUSA lot make it over again, then you're welcome for a coffee and free internet - just drop us a line...

Will mainly be out race week this time and try to post some pics from the usual two weeks of total madness...

All the best from The Rock

First pics from yesterday - didn't have much time, though...

Now it's peaceful

Now it's not :)

Audi is sponsoring it this year (well, the TT is named after this event so I guess it makes sense for them..), so we get a few of these whizzing around as well:

Looks fantastic. Let's hope the weather stays like that. Judging by the cars it looks like Audi and Sky have put a fair bit of money into it this year.

For years scholars have pondered the real purpose of Stonehenge. Now, with the aid of modern computer technology, all can be revealed.

First of all some good still shots of the Isle of Man TT set-up to some of the riders last year.

My memory is still into riders back in '47 to the 50s like Geoff Duke, Artie Bell, Mike Hailwood, Angus Ferguson, Archer, Draper, Wood, Graham, Harold Daniell, Vic Willoubhby, Heath, Firth, Foster & so many others.  Yes names of the past, but weeklies (a month plus later as the weekly from The Motorcycle or Motorcycling, came by boat from the UK to Cdn, then by train to sometimes by bus) were a bit slow in arriving.

So I would glue to them along with the black & white still shots of them in action & being a 17 to 20 yr old names of those times, what they road, & how they road were glued in my mind yet here I am almost 78 yrs of age.  Mind you there was the Scottish Six Days Trials that I also read about & watched the still photos of the star riders in usual B&Ws.

Ah the weekly of the Isle of Man is something to give consideration to as a time of fast riders doing the impossible.

Remember all the others on the road are crazy & out to kill you.

Hm..Doesn't look like much is gonna happen today - raining.. Might venture up to the paddock for a look or something. Some snaps from this morning, just for fun:

Mountain Road is one-way again like last year - works very well in reducing accidents:

I was there for the Centenary last year.  If you only go once, the IOM is well worth a visit - before it gets banned by the creeping liberals.

I think the races are fairly safe as long as the majority of the islanders want it to continue. As long as it attracts a crowd it will continue, I hope. Haven't been to the TT for 32years, Eeeek!

Awesome pics again. I just watched the first superbike race which seems to have had the best weather of the week. I felt sorry for Guy Martin but he's certainly proved he has a win in his armoury somewhere.

After their success at Stonehenge the scientists continued to uncover the secrets of the ancient world, with Easter Island proving an early triumph.

You are seriously talented you know? I love that shot at the Gooseneck. Are you using some kind of filter to get those colours?

I'm just trying to put a different twist on things this year :-)

Some are done in the morning (like the grandstand pic - around 4.30am) and some in the evening (last batch with the gooseneck one) - pretty hard not to get a bike in them lol

A few from yesterday - Ramsey Sprint
