Roberto Locatelli Roberto Locatelli of Italy and the Metis Gilera Team crashes during the 250cc race at the Australian MotoGP, which is round 15 of the MotoGP World Championship, at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit on October 18, 2009 in Phillip Island, Australia.
Roberto locatelli... best dance move 2009
Locatelli again apparently mending the clutch throw mid race/mid turn. A true innovator

love these shots I have one of the Ferrari F1 team as my desk pad,its how the moto gods view it,so gives you that feeling.

what can I say,its really bright.

simoncellis tall,and locatelli is small.

he looks to have that experimental airbag deal on here.....

like this one that simoncelli is modelling for us.

Funny innit? He was so good in 125's and usually got the better of Bradley Smith, now the boot's on the other foot.

I dont think the heavier 600cc moto2 bike is his cuppa tea.

Happy birthday, elSid. You're just a boy! 37! I have a son who's 30!

Anyway, back to bikes, the pic of Hailwood on the Island (on the 500 Honda I think) would be about 1966, before the Jap factories quit GP racing for a while. The #8 Honda seems to be from Honda's first appearance on the Island in 1959. They were too slow to challenge for a win, but they did win the team prize for reliability. Some people laughed at them, they stopped laughing a long time ago.

There is not much to be said for being an old geezer like me, but at least I can say I saw all the greats of the sixties and seventies racing at Brands Hatch and elsewhere. Hailwood, Agostini, Ivy, Read, Roberts, Baker, Hartle, Minter, Aldana, Fath, Sheene and many more. Me and my mate would get on my little 80 Suzuki and ride the 25 miles or so to the circuit. We would pay ten bob to get in, twelve and six if it was a big meeting. We were temporarily in Heaven but we didn't know it at the time. Damn, I've gone all wistful now.
