As the leaves are starting to turn in the trees, our Backroad Ramblings man gathers up a group of friends for their annual 'farewell to summer ride.'

nevermind. i thought that because he was writing from new york and not california that maybe it was fan free lanced. but now i see that all the back road ramblings are rambled on by the same writer. I thought the writing quality was too good to be fan submitted anyway!

x2468, Backroad Ramblings is one of my favorite columns in all of motorcycling- its monthly by Jason giacchino here at MCUSA.  As I'm sure you saw if you checked out the archives page devoted to it, he covers a lot of topics.  It kind of reminds me Peter Egan's Leanings column (down home, easy to relate with editorial) but I suspect Jason is quite a bit younger than Peter is as he spends less time talking about classic bikes, restorations, Viet Nam etc. and more time with sport bikes, MX, and off road- which happens to scratch right where I itch.

Anyway you said you would like to write an article like this, I for one would like to check it out.  If for nothing else we forum pirates are always on the lookout for a nice tale to comment on.  cool

After researching a while back, I discovered that Jason is also the editor of a site called Mountain Bike Tales (http://www.mountainbiketales.com).. I emailed him at editor@mountainbiketales.com to comment on a piece he did on the Rokon Trail Breaker and he wrote me back within a day or two.  I'm sure he would answer any questions you have on the xc-f.
