Motorcycle USA takes the trusty Kawasaki KLX250 for some dual-sport punishment on picturesque Kauai. Check out all the details in this MotoUSA Adventure in Kauai Garden Island Dual-Sports

Very nice. Ok, now this was a sweet gig to go on!
From my experiences in Kauai, you definitely have to watch your step around some of the locals. Not as mellow as I thought it would be, but like in all places there are always some bad apples.
Also, fantastic choice with bikes. If I had a bike there, I'd think that the new batch of 250 d/p bikes are about ideal. There's too much water and wet vegetation/mud on some of the corners to use bigger stuff.

Aloha,
Glad your experience was positive overall, how could it not be. Hawaii is an amazing place and motorcycling here is popular  and exhilirating. As far as the beefs with the locals go, it wasn't  all that bad because you all made it home and  in one piece. If coming here , remember to respect the aina(land), respect the people and come here with a positive attitude and enjoy yourself.  Haoles (foreigners) have been coming here forever trying to develop and  subsuquently destroy these incredible islands and have succeeded in some cases so try to understand the mistrust and frustration of some locals.
