Rocky Robinson, the world's fastest man on two wheels, gives MotorcycleUSA a first-hand account of the details that led up to the world record run in the Top 1 Ack Attack streamliner.

Rocky is definitely the fastest rider to ever write for this magazine!

I'm rooting for Sam Wheeler That streamliner is what "right stuff" is all about. Sure would be something if that guy could get two runs in. And the little guy could kick salt in the big guys face lol

How about the guy on a 50cc streamliner that achieved 144 mph? Now that is impressive!

How about the guy that went 152mph about 10 years ago on a bicycle Andy? Better yet, the guy that broke that record which is now in the high 160mph range. We're talking a guy that is pumping pedals here.

And behind a vehicle going that fast, with a "wall" for a wind break (ie slip-streaming). Minor detail got omitted there.

True but still a world human powered record. As it is the guy that holds the current record slipped out of the box about 5 years ago in an earlier attempt and crashed suffering numerous injuries. You may also have forgotten that the rider is towed to speed much like a glider and then released to maintain or increase whatever from that point. The flying 200 meter record for level unassisted bicycling is currently held by Canadian Sam Whittingham at 81.0mph.

Why don't some moron just jump from an airplane on a bicycle. That should be a new record. We know that going really fast we're almost airborne anyway.
