Last month it was Rossi's M1, this month we take a ride on Nicky Hayden's MotoGP mount, the 250-horsepower 2006 US Grand Prix race-winning Repsol Honda RC211V. You have to check it out.

Sounds like to much fun. Good article. But Neale's was better.

Does Honda have any plans to use the five cylinder configuration in a production bike? Maybe a Black Bird replacement.

Good question, Pat. We've been hearing that rumor for awhile, but we have no concrete evidence at this point. However, with Honda's somewhat boring 2006 lineup, we're expecting some big news out of Big Red in 2007.

Another nice article. Agree, not as good as Neale's article in the "vivid imaginations" department. I could feel Neale's sweat when he was depicting the M1. Nevertheless, Micheal got all the necessary points of interests across, like comparison to a Blade, which I'm sure Blade owers would be keen to know.

It's funny, during the racing season when we were having convo in the Racing Forum, I keep saying that Hayden's bike (and the RCV in general) is the most dominant bike in the paddock and that the M1 is still not up to par with it. This is a "general accepted fact" in Motogp, but man, you get all these Haydenite jockers tellimg me I was just stating an assumption and, naturally, by stating such "unfound" assumption, I'm indirectly "devalueing" their boy's (Hayden's) skills. But i'm going on a tangent here.

I'll be cool to see if Honda will sell some V5. But one has to think it won't be cheap, and could be a new lineup in the 18k-20k range where it would compete directly with Ducati. I just don't see how Honda can make an affordable V5 to replace the I4 because despite the exotic element of the V5, the I4 is a proven engine for civilians, and I just don't see why a company would wanna replace it with something that's pretty much unproven (in terms of cost & maint) for CIVILIAN use.

Now let's hear a test on the Ducati!! Anyone?

It is interesting to see two very similar stories back-to-back. I agree with the other posters. Give us more of Neeves' prose. He told me alot more about his emotions.

Oh, and Bayly inadvertantly used some phrases right from the Honda press kit. Several recent ads for CBRs focus on racebike "DNA". One of the ads looks like a DNA map with a CBR600 superimposed on it.

I am the foremost expert on my opinion.

On to Connio's tangent.

What part of that article confirmed "generally accetpted fact" that the RCV is currrently the best bike in MotoGP? That it once was? And what part of Bayly's review of the M-1 makes you believe the Yamaha is inferior?

You are really good at something I call selective reasoning. Or really bad, depending on how one looks at it.

Yeah, Connio, where did you find the evidence of the RC211 superiority in that article? Hayden finished after Melandri, I guess Melandri in good Connio "selective reasoning" thinking was on an inferior bike too.

Anyway, good article. Next time, invite at least some of us - not Connio LOL!

I thought the bike was pretty cool when I saw it at the Nagoya 2006 motorshow.  It felt really small to my 6'3'' stature, but still one of my favorites:

no problem, any time.  I glad to share them with you.  By the way, did you notice that the exhaust is different from the bike in the earlier thread?  The earlier one had a side exiting exhaust, this one comes through the back under the seat.  Here is a link to my pics from the Nagoya motor show that can also get you to all of my pictures from my Japan tour.  It includes several automotive museum and motor shows and a ton of other great stuff.  Feel free to view all of it.  I think maybe there is some sort of competition who can have the best album through the web site and I think they count the number of hits as well.  I don't know for sure.  Maybe for a winner, they will give a year's subscription to the site for free.  That would be cool too, but moreso, I would just like all of the people that I know to see what I've been up to. http://photobucket.com/albums/c255/msuguitarman/Cars%20in%20Japan/Nagoya%20Motor%20Show/
to view other areas, just click on msuguitarman at the top of the page and it will take you back to the main menu.  There are sub-albums within albums too.
