actually, you're only allow to be a partial squid because they required full gear. i fully agree that if you're going to ride hard, the tracks and other control environments are the 'best' and safest for everyone. plus, no negative perceptions such as all riders are squids from the general public.

"Best place to be a squid?"

Pretty easy answer, in the garage, with the door down, engine off, sitting on the bike, making "vroom vroom" noises. Because that's all squids are really qualified to handle, maybe. Probabaly should make sure the ignition key is stashed away some where. Otherwise the squid may drag the battery down operating the turn signals and horn. You know, bright flashy lights and loud noises things that seem to attract squids.

This past weekend a 23 squid on an 1198 with paper plates and less than 300 miles on the odo blew the double yellow and took out a 54 year old coming the other way on his classic Norton.

This happened in misty conditions near "Alice's" a well known weekend bike hangout in the Bay Area.

Never been, and will likely NEVER go there on a weekend.

Too much congestion on weekends and too many show offs and squids.

Both are in serious condition as of now.

While in my case I from all over Western Canada (which means B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan to Manitoba) which is a lot of land in the short season of riding.  So you get the best you can out of that short season, but like most others tyres to chains, to sprockets wear our like mad.  Just part of life.

Remember all the others on the road are crazy & out to kill you.
