I went to Texas World Speedway last Sunday for the last CMRA road races of the season.  One of the larger Harley dealers in Houston had a Buell 1125R setting by one of the pit garages with the attached flyer.  Pretty good deal if you are in the market.

i agree, that deal is even better than some of the deals i've seen for japanese brand bikes. i have no interest in owning any of buell's offerings but that might just do the trick for folks on the fence...very good find at almost 50% off the msrp.

If they had that here in Salt Lake, I would have cash in hand. I test rode an 1125CR last year and was real close. Very nice bikes. I don't think I have test rode any bike that I did not like.

Wait One Freakin Minute. At this point we are talking about a bike that has no manufacturing/Dealership backup and support.

There are people that think the Made in China bikes are a good deal because of the super low price as well.
Goody, what is the bike worth when it needs a part you can't get? When your dead in the water, You have Junk.

I have heard that Buell parts are expensive and sometimes hard to get. I think that is the reason I didn't get a Buell earlier this year. I agree with you Lou.

Attached is a news letter that a friend of mine who owns a Harley got from the dealer this week.  I do not own a Harley and have never done business with these folks but if you can believe what they advertise it looks like a good deal.  Of course "Full Parts, Service and Warranty still thru Factory H.D." may not mean it is all good.

I get nothing but a blank page with a Harley Buell heading and Blow out.

Doesn't matter though, The parts are not being maufactured, there is no production runs.

Who are they lying to? People that believe lies. Actually that is Harleys, most successful business stratagy. Telling a lie that the Harley faithful accept hook line and sinker.

Chill out Lou. There are many bikes that have been out of production for years that you can still easily obtain parts for. I expect someone will be stockpiling lots of Buell parts too.

Yes, the slash and burn has begun--Buells are on at fire-sale prices everywhere.

If I was looking for another bike, I'd buy one in an instant. But I already have my Buell, so...

BTW, by law, Buell must continue to supply parts for seven years. And Bullet, BTW, you heard wrong...Buell parts are easy to get, and actually quite inexpensive (Buell is not Ducati...).

I think like Lou when it comes to parts since I was in the m/c business.  Stock was rare for us to have other then things we thought would be needed. Now most distriburters, being early in setting up were short of money for lots of parts  Otherwise in all of them being British we sent to the UK for parts that took a while to receive for most goods were trucked to a sea port to be loaded on a boat that came across the Atlantic Ocean to be dropped off in Montreal Quebec or Toronto, Ontario, to me moved by diesel steam locamotive train to our town then to truck to our place.  So basically we felt lucky to have said part in a month of ordering.

We had a bummer of a time to obtain part of British bikes that were made prior to WWII.  Fortunately Broakers were they ones we made contact with, when the makers turned us down, & thank goodness those chaps knew EXACTLY what was needed to how to modifity the bike as in our minds.

That is ALSO why I hesitated about JPN bikes  when they first started to arrive for I could still get parts from Greeves, Dot or Villiers to Triumph & know of one case when a good selling Honda 90cc bike had problems of burned out exhaust valve & could not get it from Honda as they could NOT stop the mass production of the bikes then, JUST to make said valve of that very bike.

We did quite good with Czech Jawa, to their two strokes as well, though the waiting list was a month plus as the same trip as the British parts.

One major factor about most Buell bikes is the power plant is churned out by HD & if you have HD then it is easy to obtain parts.

Remember all the others on the road are crazy & out to kill you.

I wouldn't count on the Buell parts though. They aren't Harley parts that are used in a Harley. I can't believe that Harley in their corporate board room actions are going to expend money on paying for production runs of parts for bikes they no longer sell.

Expect a parts order made to come back "on back order", and the back order to never get filled.

Business practices have changed dramatically over the years. In the present time, it has been a case of no extra parts on a shelf. That is (in Corporate world) an un-nessesary expense and especially a taxed inventory.

Just in time, has been a Mantra, in supplies.

The after market industry was/is the support of Harley parts, when the age of the bike moves back from current.
The aftermarket exists because of the world wide volume that can support the market. Buell isn't that number.
