To promote the common exchange of information, I encourage all members to list the bikes that they own, and have owned in the past, here in this thread. This will give everyone a resource to know who to ask about what bike.

Please follow the format of my next post, and please don't post other info or commentary here. I will ask the moderator to delete or edit such stuff.

If we keep this "clean", it will be much more useful and concise.

PS: Please make one post per user. Use the "edit" function to add your new bikes to this registry.

Harley Davidson 1998 95th aniversary Dyna Wide Glide, I plan to keep this one for many years, I hope.

Used to own a 2003 1200 XLH Sportster, sold it after getting the Wide Glide.

Distant Past;

68 I am guessing, Honda 90 street bike, It looked sorta like a trail 90 but had a fairing. It never seen the street after I got it. I always run a knobbie tire on back.

Others I rode quite a bit in the distant past, but did not actually own. They belonged to a ranch I used to work for.

Suzuki 250 enduro, early 70's model, two cycle engine, I always loved that bike.

Honda 175 trail/street, It had a dual high and low range transmision like the trail 90's used to have. probably a 1975 or 1976 model. They bought it new while I was working for them but I just can't pin the year down for sure. I guess it was a good bike, but I never liked it that much, because it was taller then the Suzuki 250, and it wasn't as stable in the rought stuff, everyone who rode it, had more problems keeping it on the rubber, and everytime it got dropped you lost a clutch or brake lever, where the old Suzuki seemed to be easier to keep up in the rought stuff, and if it went down, we never seemed to tear anything up.

Back in the 70's we used motorcycles in combination with horses and 4X4 pickups to roundup and move cattle. We did a lot of that. The 4-wheeler had not been invented yet. The bikes worked good for moving cattle long distances in the open but the horse was still the king when the distances got tighter around the cow lots.

I've always been fortunate in having plenty of storage space, and never thought it worth selling any of my old bikes for the paltry sums that they were worth. I also used to have a bad habit of buying spare Enfield bits whenever I came across them.

I THOUGHLY AGREE ,we all do have a COMMON GROUND,we should have an IDEA of who rides
what ,the one any motorcyclist should not have is attitude too other riders,as we all have two wheels(TRIKE RIDERS INCLUDED)
If motorcycles were invented in todays world NO GOVERMENT would accept them.
WE ride and control,our ride not coocooned in stereos and air conditioned sleep ZONES!

The 400 twin is my fav so far. Clubman bars, after market exhaust (loud, sounds great), re-painted British racing green. Spoked wheels, and drum brakes on both ends.

2002 ,Suzuki Bandit 1200 , Standard . I use this for daily transportation . I currently own and ride the snot out of a 2004 1600 Marauder. Really do like this bike. I traded a 2004 FZ1 in for the M95, AKA Marauder about six months ago. Prior to that I owned and enjoyed a Honda Valkyrie but it was a little big for the kind of riding I do, mostly back road running here in Mid-coast Maine. At present I have the parts order for the Caddmann conversior, a TFI and a set of Cobra Classic Slashcuts. The only thing I am not sure of are the pipes. I don"t know if I should stay with the Cobras or switch my order to HardKrome 3" staggered. Anyone got an opinion about which pipe might be of better quality. I do like the idea of the Cobra's removable baffle, not thrilled about heat shields?????, Mack

If you want power, get the Muzzy or V&H Pro-Pipe 2-into-1 system.

No shotgun system will work as well except for all-out drag racing.

I have checked with the two supply sources that I have been dealing with and nither one of them has Muzzy or Vance and Hines two into one for the 2004 Marauder or Meanie. The only 2 into 1's I have found are from Cobra, HardKrome (sideburners) any ideas???mack

Well sir, I went ahead and ordered the Vance and Hines classic. Crusiercustomizing swore they would fit my 2004 1600 Marauder....wrong. After rolling around in the dirt for several hours I finally accepted the fact that the mounting bracket hole that did not match up with the hole in the frame where the thing should go, was wrong. I called V&H the next day, was informed that those pipes were never meant for the Marauder!!! Good news, I thought back to what you had said, two into one. I just finished installing my Muzzy two int ones and they are outstanding. The 2 into 1's along with the Caddmann fix causes my Marauder to absoultely fly.The mid range is amazing. I am using the Wild Thing TFI and wonder if you have any sage advice as to where to set it. I have swaged it thus far and the power increase is amazing, I am just not sure if it is optimum. I have also noted that the engine seems to be cranking out more heat than normal, of course that could be the change in the weather, it's the high eighties here in Maine. Thanks for your advice about the 2 into 1's, you were spot on. Mack

Dumb, dumb, dumb me. I know there is no such thing as a 750 Honda Sportster. Why did I say that? It is a chopper. Well, it is a 750 Honda and it has a big engine, and long long forks on it. It has a teeny little gas take with the grim reaper riding a white horse carrying a big sythe. It is a hardtail, and beautiful. We bought the bike at a yard sale for $300. It didn't run and was rough looking. My son came home on leave from Navy and 45 minutes after he started working on it, he had it running and was riding it down the old country road. My husband gave it to him for his 40th birthday and he rode it for two summers. We love it and no plans to sell, but no $300 would even come close, if we did. The man who sold it said he has kicked himself a hundred times over. But I had a senior moment when I called it a Honda Sportster. Sorry.

That GSX-R750 was a hoot in the twisties. But the ZX-11 was just way fast everywhere! It was so smooth though, you could be doing an indicated 100+, not that I ever would go that fast nono , and it would just feel like you were going only 35. Miss both of those bikes, although the Rex has continued to grow on me. I'll miss her when I get my Buell! lol

The 3 I put the most miles on were the RD-400, moto morini and the fantic (almost 250,000 between the 3). The worst bike was the 64 panhead. (ride 20 minutes wrench for 2 hours. I hated that bike!)

My first bike was a Yamaha FS 80. 76´ model if my memory serves me right.

Currently I own a Suzuki GN 250. Looking forward to getting a more offroad-compatible bike

There´s a picture of the bike, taken about a month ago during a nightly fall ride.

I also happen to be pretty familiar with Moto Guzzi Nevada 750 (carb model) in case someone has questions about that bike.

Hi,Ownshee here...I have recently started riding and have a 1983 Hondamatic 450,with a voyager conversion...I am having a blast...I do have a question if anyone can help me..I was told that I would probably never have to take it out of first gear? I was wanting to know at what speed I would shift into second gear or should I be doing it at the lower speeds? thanks

I do remember using clothes pins to connect base ball cards to frame so as the rear wheel turned it sounded cool like a motor cycle. tongue

Hi, My name is John and I get paid to be a gear head and this my love of motorcycles is sort of guilty pleasures.

My bike is an 2008 SE Custom Springer that I reworked heavily but I'm still not sure if it wasn't blasphemy to rework a special bike to get what I wanted. It will run like a scalded ape, though.

The second bike is my wife's. It's faster than, well almost stock anything!!!It also holds a line in a corner like it's on rails. She loves it!!!
